‏The Doors of Perception

‏An Exhibition by Tuan Mu (b. 1994, Taiwan)

‏In 1953, Aldous Huxley published The Doors of Perception, an autobiographical account centered on the experience of perceiving the world under the influence of psychedelic substances. Taking its title from The Doors of Perception, the exhibition reflects a reconfiguration of how perception is understood today, positioned within a historical understanding of perception as an inward experience. At the same time, it gives form to a broader rearticulation of transcendence, where environments and non-human structures operate as conditions through which perception is organized, placing sensing within relational configurations that emerge through interactions between human presence, technological processes, and surrounding contexts.

‏The exhibition brings together five artworks, which operate across bodily engagement and immersive environments, as well as through language, calligraphic systems, and algorithmic processes. Here, writing functions as a proxy body, redistributing gestures into algorithmic structures and opening shared modes of sensing between human and machine.

The exhibition runs from 22 January to 17 February 2026, daily except Friday and Saturday, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

‏Exhibition opening: Thursday, 22 January 2026, 7:00 PM.

‏Address: Medrar, 10 Gamal Eldin Abo ElMahsen, 8th floor, Garden City, Cairo.

From Objects to Worlds: 3D Scanning and Immersive Translation Workshop by Tuan Mu

This two-day workshop focuses on the application and critical reflection of 3D scanning technologies within XR and immersive environments. Using mobile-based 3D scanning tools accessible through smartphones, participants will learn how to transform physical objects into digital models, and further explore how virtual objects are perceived, situated, and interpreted within immersive spaces. Led by artist Tuan Mu, the workshop draws on his recent research and artistic practice in immersive media. From an artistic and conceptual perspective, participants are guided to understand 3D scanning as a process of capturing information that is necessary for physical interaction through virtual perception, such as the temporal dynamics of a scene, semantic relevance, spatial experience, and modes of translation between worlds.

Registration Deadline: Sunday, 1st of February 2026

*The workshop is free, but registration is required through the form
