Love Letter to Mars

This multi-disciplinary performance by Yazan Al Khalili and Lara Khaldi takes the form of reading a letter sent to a friend that lives on Mars in the year 2026, when the first manned trip to Mars is planned to land on Mars. Created around research into different projects to send humans to Mars, the project also reflects on the political meanings, and the economic and social impact of this trip on our lives now and in the future. In addition, four other artists will contribute new video and sound works as part of the performance: Dirar Kalash of Palestine, Young-Hae Chang Heavy Industries of South Korea and the US, Gerard Ortin of Spain, and Maha Maamon of Egypt.
