Workshop drawing and painting – Diamond Time

Diamond Time – Drawing and painting Workshop facilitated by artist Ahmed Sabri

This workshop is designed for beginners and art students who are interested in learning how to research different ways of thinking, rather than specific painting techniques.

The workshop will take place in Medrar from Sunday, May 8, 2016 to Sunday, May 22, 2016. There will be a total of 7 lectures offered on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays each week at 4 PM. After the workshop, there will be a three-day exhibition to showcase the work produced during the workshop.

The Program

• First lecture: Still life – exercises (5 hours)
• The second lecture: A lecture with a guest artist for the workshop about drafting, reformulating, and the relationship of technique to the concept (3 hours)
• Lecture Three: Collecting materials to create improvised paintings (5 hours)
• Fourth lecture: Determine a topic for work and discussion (5 hours)
• Fifth lecture: An open lecture to a group of artists about quoting, theft, imitation, paraphrasing, and how to write about the artistic project with more than one concept (3 hours)
• Sixth lecture: Preparing a plan for a personal project and working on developing it
• Seventh lecture: Project implementation

Workshop fee: 500 EGP, paid at Medrar’s office before the workshop begins. To apply, please fill in the application form below and send it before Sunday 22nd April 2016. Only selected participants will be notified no later than Thursday 28th April 2016.
