Medrar for Contemporary Arts
- Medrar is a foundation that represents a common link that intermediates between young artists and other foundations and companies that support and sponsor the arts in general and offer enhancements, such as workshops, production, and show spaces.
- Contemporary visual arts are the main concern of Medrar
Medrar seeks to:
• Research the ability to document the ongoing contemporary art movement in Egypt considering that the documentation issue is necessary for forming a conceptual, culturally fundamental background
• Pave the way for artists’ development and seeks to provide them with the chances for interaction and experimentation.
• Set up alternating festivals that stimulate the artistic movements that rely on the participation and interaction of artists and critics in these events.
• Attract young artist and support them with funding and through periodic events.
• Build up contemporary critique methods by organizing forums, open discussions and workshops
• Clear the features of Egyptian contemporary arts considering contemporary art criticism
• Create a space for dialogue between young art critics by producing serial prospectuses and critical researches parallel to artistic events
• Collaborate with any other association or foundation that stands for supporting artists in various strands of activities
• Activate participation processes and cultural exchange between Egyptian and foreign artists by inviting master class artists to give lectures or workshops or collaborating on projects with Egyptian young artists along with searching for available educational or interactive grants for artists.
